About AirDry Co
A site about drying laundry without a dryer, for people in small apartments who do not have one.
What this site is
AirDry Co compares drying racks, heated racks, dehumidifiers and the rest of the gear people buy when they do not have a dryer. There are 56 pages of it, and every one is built on specifications the manufacturer published, arithmetic we did ourselves, and a clear statement of what we do not know.
The reader we write for is specific: someone in a rented apartment, a studio or a dorm, with a wet load of laundry and not much floor space. When a decision on this site is ambiguous, that is who it gets resolved for.
What this site is not
It is not a test lab. We have not handled these products, we do not own them, and no page here will ever tell you otherwise. That is the most important sentence on the site.
The category we compete in leads with claims of hands-on testing, and much of it is not substantiated. We could write the same sentences. We do not, because they would not be true, and because a claim like that is the easiest thing in the world for a reader or a search quality rater to check.
What we do instead
We compile the specifications each manufacturer publishes - footprint open and folded, drying-line length, load capacity, material, rated wattage - and print them side by side with the gaps marked. Then we do the arithmetic nobody else in this category does in US dollars: what a powered rack costs to run, at 18.34¢/kWh, with the source and the retrieval date on the page.

Who writes it
Scooter M. is an enthusiast who is genuinely into this. I read the manuals, compile the published specs, and do the math. No lab coat.
That framing is deliberate and it is the honest one. There is no certification behind this site, no advisory panel, no test rig, and no years of trade experience being implied. What there is, is arithmetic you can check and sources you can click.
Who operates it
AirDry Co is published by Slate Mill Group. It is funded by affiliate commission from Amazon, disclosed on every page that carries a link, and it has accepted no free products and no sponsored placements.
Corrections
If a figure on this site is wrong, we want to know and we will fix it with a dated note rather than silently. The editorial policy sets out how, and the contact page is how to reach us.
The three things we will not do
- Claim to have tested, tried or used a product we have not. Not once, not in passing, not implied.
- Print a price, a rating, a wattage or a dimension that did not come from the manufacturer or from a live data source.
- Let a commission rate decide a ranking. Where the cheaper pick is the right answer, it is the one at the top.
