What an affiliate link is

When you click a buy button on this site and then purchase something, Amazon pays us a small percentage of the sale. The price you pay is exactly the same as it would be if you had gone to Amazon directly. There is no markup, no code to enter, and no difference to you at all.

Where the links go, and why they look odd

Every buy button here points at an address on our own domain that starts with /go/, which then forwards you to the retailer. We do that for two reasons. It lets us count buy clicks, which is the only way we can see which pages are useful. And it means that if we ever change where a product link points - to a different retailer, or to a program we have joined since - we change one configuration entry instead of rewriting the page.

Those /go/ addresses carry noindex and are blocked in our robots file, so they never appear in search results.

Which retailers we earn from

Amazon, and only Amazon, at the time of writing. AirDry Co is a new publication and has not joined any other affiliate network. If that changes we will update this page, and the disclosure on every affected page will change with it.

We do not build tracking links for programs we have not joined. Where we mention a brand or a retailer we cannot link commercially - the UK-retail heated-airer brands, for example - we say so on the page and the link earns us nothing.

What commission does not do

It does not decide a ranking. On several pages here the top pick is the cheapest product on the page, which pays us the least. That is not a coincidence and it is not generosity - it is the only arrangement under which our recommendations are worth reading, and therefore the only one under which this site has a future.

Every roundup on this site also names a product to skip, which is not a thing a page written to maximize commission would do.

What we have not accepted

• Free products: none. We have not been sent anything by any manufacturer.
• Sponsored placements: none. No brand has paid to appear on this site or to be ranked in any position.
• Paid reviews: none. Nobody has paid for coverage here, favorable or otherwise.

If any of that ever changes, it will be disclosed on the page in question, prominently, before the first link.

What we have not done

We have not tested these products. That belongs on this page as much as on the methodology page, because “we tested twenty” is itself a commercial claim in this category. What we did instead is set out there in full.

Prices

Prices shown on this site come from a live data layer and are stamped with the date they were last verified. When we do not have a current price, the button says “Check price” rather than showing an old number. Prices change constantly and the retailer’s page is always the authority.
